Mission

'Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink?  Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?...And the King will tell them, 'I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!'       ----- Matthew 25:37-40

Our commitment to missions draws from the words of Jesus. What would happen if we saw the face of Jesus in the children of the world? Whether they are across the street in our own community or walking through a neighborhood in Manaus, Brazil, Jesus assures us His love for every child and adult is the same. He challenges us to share. A missions heart does not mean we must travel to far away places. It compels us to share.

Local Ministry is very important to us. Every week we engage in serving the needs of those in our community. Extra Helping Ministry assists local residents with basic household, personal and clothing supplies. Our Nursing Home Ministry ministers to residents of Briarcliff and Windwood in three services each week. Trained Volunteers deliver  practical life skills and encouragement to detainees at Anderson County Detention Center. These are a few examples of what "mission" means to us at Heritage Fellowship.
